Edinburgh 25 September 1858.
My dear Lewes
I am sorry to find on inquiry that no reply has yet been sent to Tr'fcbner. It has been partly my mistake owing to a confusion arising from my brother's absence of a conversation I had with Mr. Simpson on the subject after his return from London. We will write on Monday and hope no injury will happen from the delay to G.E.'s interests.
The prospectus 402 is highly approved of by us. I send you a proof. We announce the work as preparing for publication in this number of Maga, but reserve the prospectus to a later period -- probably on 1st November -- we will issue it.
Yours truly
Wm. Blackwood.
G. H. Lewes Esq.
Send us back Tr'fcbner's letter if you can lay hands on it. It was not returned to us.
