My dear Lewes
In purchasing the Copyright of Felix Holt I was so engrossed by the main operation that I did not think of the sheets for America and the right of Translation. When the thought of the necessity of making some arrangement about them recalled them to me I resolved to hand them over to you lest any difference of opinion should arise about a book with which I was so delighted. I am extremely pleased and gratified with the handsome way in which you declare what your intentions were about these rights and I will proceed to make arrangements.
I will reserve the right of German Translation for Mr. Lehman as you suggest with much pleasure and am writing to Mr. Langford to see him and arrange the matter.
