My Dear Mrs. Lewes
I congratulate you. It is splendid. I could not get settled down to your M.S. until 'bd past 8 and I made a night of it. At first I began to try to read quickly but I found that was even more utterly out of the question than usual with your books and I soon settled down to calm leisurely enjoyment reading line by line and constantly turning back again to make sure that I had got it all. I paused and enjoyed myself so much that although it was 3 o clock in the morning when I went to bed I had only got through 'bd the volume!!!!
I must be off to train and again congratulating you
always yours truly
