My Dear Mrs. Lewes
I am so vexed to hear that Lewes is so unwell again. The intelligence in his last note was so healthy that I almost forgot to express the sympathy I felt with his ailments. I hope this will find him pretty right again.
The Printers calculate that Theophrastus will make some 266 printed pages like the inclosed and this with the breaks for chapters will make quite a thick enough volume. We can easily put less in the page if you desire it.
You will see that Parliament meets so soon that we cannot be out before but the moment we get the word from you it will be in type "right speedilie". Do you remember our old printing office manager when I told him to get up Silas Marner quickly replied "I'll blaw it up like a bottle."
I am reading with greatest pleasure. Your idea of advert[isement] is much my own.
