My dear Mrs. Strachey,
I must write you one line to say that you must never let me see again that half finished note I sent to you. It is yours and I want you to have it and to keep it and to treasure it as I know you will do. If I saw it again I could not part with it. You must not let me see it. I mean what I say. 570
I hope to see you very soon. I am going to Sevenoaks this afternoon and thence to Lincolnshire and Six Mile Bottom to visit my sisters and brothers in law. I expect to be back in London tomorrow week.
I do trust that you and Lady Colvile took no cold yesterday. I am very anxious that the trouble should spread no further. My very kind remembrances to your sister -- smitten almost simultaneously. I cannot say more now.
