Dear Sir
Mrs. Lewes is so much occupied just now that I relieve her from all correspondence that is not exclusively personal. She [asks] me to say that she perfectly well remembers you and she hopes I may be successful in my application to a publisher on Mr. Maccall's behalf. 471 I shall endeavour to see one in the next two or three days and see if any translation is to be had. Should you not hear further from me you will conclude that I have not been successful.
Yours truly
G. H. Lewes.
W. Hale White Esq.
