Dear Scott
It was very kind of you to send us that spirited sketch 848 -- though the [old times] remain indelible and need no souvenir. I am often in that study of yours in Edwards Street 849 where we passed the night "talking of lovely things that conquer death." If I don't find time in the hurry of our last three weeks to come and see you, I will come in the Autumn. Meanwhile we both hope to see you again.
Ever yours
G. H. Lewes.
