My dear Sir
If the pamphlet can be laid hold of again it shall be posted to you; but I have my doubts.
The writer is a Mr. H. W. Smith. 297 The lady you mention must be Miss Bacon, 298 who not long ago published an insane tirade in Putnam's Monthly Magazine, which I noticed in the Leader 299 at the time. She had nothing to do with this pamphlet I should imagine.
The German "Shakspere ein Mythus" is unknown to me and with my consent shall remain so. There are few things revolutionize my liver more than German writing about Shakspeare.
I hope you got a letter from me written from Tenby in answer to an invite to breakfast, which reached me long after the said breakfast had been digested?
Ever faithfully yours,
G. H. Lewes.
