Dear Milnes
By the parcel Del[iver]y Com[pan]y I return Bormolaski, 294 for the loan of which many thanks. I have copied the letter, which will go among the various documents I have collected on the subject.
In three distinct rummages among my books I have failed to alight on that rare volume of which I spoke to you (Rymer on Tragedy) 295 but it will turn up some day, and when it does I will send it.
Louis Blanc writes to say that la femme 'e9galit'e9 was the duchess of Orleans, Philippe's wife. Ever, my dear Milnes,
Yours faithfully,
G. H. Lewes.
I felt very much tempted to mention in the Leader that you had a translation of Heine's poems in hand, but refrained lest after all you should not publish them, which would be a pity, nay worse than a pity, a shame -- they are so marvellously good.
