Dear dear Friend
Since all that befals you of good or evil befals us you may imagine the delight with which last night we heard from Otter, and this morning the still more gratifying confirmation from Emily of her state of mind. We think him an extremely lucky fellow but we have also so high an opinion of him that long ago we used often to wish he would fall in love with one of the doves. Nothing we have heard for a long time has been such a real joy to us -- as of course it is to all of you.
Now won't you bring the [blushing bride] to see us? so that we may have a look into your dear face, which has been so long a stranger to our eyes. Come to lunch on Monday or Tuesday next or any day that will suit. 198 You may have much to do just now, but you must give us one day. Madonna sends her love and blessings
