Dear Barbara
Unless the Gods or the Lawyers interfere we shall present ourselves at the parsonage 935 tomorrow (Tuesday) about three. If not Tuesday then Wednesday. We hope to be able to stay over Christmas day, but may be called up to town suddenly, which would be odious.
We both need a holiday, but as you can give us our mornings we can do a little work, and so make the rest of the day more enjoyable because earned. At our age a day lost is a serious loss!
Ever yours faithfully
G. H. Lewes.
