My dear Sir
Thank you very much for the [Homer] 724 which I cut open eagerly, dipping as I cut, and which I intend feasting on as soon as my health and leisure permit -- alas! that will be some time hence, for I am going South as soon as my new edition is out to recruit my feeble body. I am forced to relinquish the Review and indeed find it difficult to get through with my new edition. So you see I am not yet up to such a book as yours, from which I expect great things.
Yours very truly
G. H. Lewes.
