My dear Blackwood
I have been anxiously expecting to hear from you, lest either of my parcels should have miscarried. I sent one from G. Eliott; and a paper on Seaside Studies -- both let me hope reached you in all safety. If the seaside paper is printed in Maga this month, please not to send me a checque here, because as I have to endorse it, the sending to and fro is riskious. If it is no trouble to you I should prefer your paying in the amount to my account in the Union Bank of London, 4 Pall Mall East, 845 which will save all risk.
I continue delighted with this place, and have been very fortunate with my animals, novelty and beauty being well represented in my vivarium. Early next month however -- about the 10th I think -- I shall take flight for Jersey and there George Eliot will be with me, engendering new clergymen, I hope.
Maga is "taken in," even here! If that isn't popularity I don't know what is.
