My dear Blackwood
Johnston is finished at last, and enclosed I send the Preface for you to consider. If you approve, let me have it again and I will copy it into the first volume.
"Golden opinions from all sorts of people" 381 continue to reach me about the "Studies," and among these "all sorts" to my great surprise I find Lord John Russell. If the book sells well it will operate favorably on the "Physiology."
Ever faithfully yours
G. H. Lewes.
