My dear Blackwood
I have brought out my meaning more distinctly towards the close of the article. But I cannot see anything to alter in the passage about Medicine which, as a science, 349 is, I assure you, in a state not less chaotic than Phrenology; but gains, and deserves, greater respect than Phrenology because its pretensions are humbler.
As I said before I prefer leaving all publishing arrangements to your experience, necessarily so much better a guide than any opinion of mine. Nevertheless as a suggestion I would say let 10/6 rather than 12/- be the price of the book, if that will pay a decent profit. 350 Not being a work which people must have, the cheaper it is the greater will be the sale; and 10/6 seems to me as much as any one would like to give.
By the way, the only time on which I published at half-profits, my share was paid in advance. Do you care to risk this much, making an approximative estimate of what the profits would be?
