My dear Blackwood
It is very pleasant to have you asking if I am going to confine myself to the character of intermediare. Think yourself lucky that I do! If I were to open the floodgates of my ink bottle, Maga would have enough to do to keep her course. No; I shall trouble you with nothing till the Scilly Isles shriek for utterance. I have as much work in the revising of my History as I intend to do till I am safely coasted.
Tugwell said he was going to write a paper for you, but it has not yet reached me. I shall not send it you unless I think it probable you will accept it. But he is a charming little gentleman, and I should be glad to bring you together if it can be done to mutual advantage.
Ever faithfully yours
G. H. Lewes.
