My dear Blackwood
I have altered the proof to meet your objections. Indeed you underrate Buckle. He is very offensive and lays himself open to attack; so does Macaulay -- but the fine qualities predominate.
As to your Spiritual Correspondent he may go to -- another and a hotter place. The idea of Maga's allowing herself to be chaperon to such cannaille!
