My dear Blackwood
Your approbation of the Poem has given Mrs. Lewes fresh life and hope (she needs such stimulus to counteract her terrible diffidence). Please let us have half a dozen proofs for correction.
I should like an extra copy of Maga for January. Don't you think a hint to Delane might possible get a leader in the Times on Felix's address? I will poke up the [Pall Mall.]
Mr. Simpson will kindly keep the m.s. of the poem for me to have it bound like the others when complete.
I am deeply immersed in researches on the nervous system and intend running over to Germany as soon as the weather will let me, to work in the laboratories of the great anatomists there. I should like to have three or four copies of the [Physiology of Common Life] to take there if you can spare them.
