My dear Blackwood
You are quite right about sending to Dailies and Weeklies at the same time. Indeed your proposition was exactly the one I submitted to Langford, though not on your grounds. There must be no favoritism shown.
By the way, indisposed as I am to look at criticism I should be glad to see what the dailies except the Times say of the first part -- if Mr. Simpson will kindly send them. Mrs. Lewes is but so so and gets on slowly and anxiously, but I hope soon to send you volume 3.
Although we are rather shy of making new acquaintances unless they are really pleasant we should of course be glad to see any one of whom you speak so favorably as of Mr. Julian Sturgis. If he will come some Sunday he will be welcome.
Enclosed my list of presentation copies. My sister in law's address I will forward you by post, when I get it. The letter missent to you was to ask her where she had moved to now her son is appointed chemist to the Wellington College. 391
Langford tells me that we shall see Willie shortly. Perhaps he may take back the precious m.s.!
