My dear Blackwood
A Hungarian Professor writes me word that he has translated the Physiology of Common Life and found a publisher but wants my permission (which of course is gladly given) he also wants to preface it with an account of my works and has not got the Sea-side Studies. Would you kindly order a copy to be sent through a Leipzig bookseller to him through L. Cs'e2thy Company | Debreczin, Hungary. His name is Prof. Ladislaus Dapsy.
Another request! When I was in Paris I met Renan who was very anxious to see the article I wrote in Maga about his Essais 739 some years ago; would you send him the number (I think it was in 1858 or 59, the article was called "Another Pleasant French Book," and was a review of the Essais de Critique) address |

These bitter winds! This horrid snow! This horrid slush! To come from sunny Spain where even in February we were forced to sit in the shade, and find oneself in the glacial climate of England is enough to undo much of the good of the journey; but I hope we have laid in sufficient strength to withstand even that -- especially as I must now be hard at work on my History.
Mrs. Lewes is writing to you so I shall presume all the necessary details will be given or will have been given by her.
