My dear Blackwood
We returned last night from a visit to Jowett at Oxford where from Saturday we have been in one continuous excitement of talk, and are proportionately knocked up. 202 Among a heap of letters was yours with a perfectly satisfactory explanation and a delicious burst about golfing which amused us much. In a few days now I hope we shall get away for a quiet saunter through France and Switzerland.
We have got our country house 203 at last -- but can't take possession till September. It is quite an ideal place got for us by Lady Lubbock near her and the Darwins. We have for it a year on trial with the option of a long lease if approved of! It is near Chiselhurst only 'bc of an hour from London Bridge.
