MS: Yale. Endorsed: G. H. Lewis | Jersey | July 7.
Rosa Cottage | Jersey | 7th July 1857.
My dear Nutt
Herewith I authorize you to indorse or accept the Brockhaus Bill for me. 324 Please pay the money into my account with the Union Bank of London, Charing Cross Branch, 4 Pall Mall East.
I should be very sorry if the German sale could in any way interfere with ours 325 but it is not likely that many Germans would give 30/-. Especially when there was a translation; and as to our market, the German edition may not come in here.
Kind regards to Mrs. Nutt, and tell her there has been no rock hunting this hot weather. I shall be home again on the 24th Inst. In haste
Ever yours
G. H. Lewes.
