Shotter Mill | Sunday.
Dearest Boy
We return on Friday and shall be glad to see your and Gertrude's sweet faces on Saturday to dinner at 6, or if you can't come Saturday, then the earliest day you can. Let me know, by a note to the Priory on Friday.
Will you meanwhile order for me from the Stores -- to arrive on Friday -- 3 bottles of Martorell's three stars Brandy at 5/- | 'bd lb Mocha Coffee | 'bd lb Plantation | 'bd lb Ceylon and 3 lbs of the tea as you compose it.
We have had horrid weather of late but again the sun shines on us. Tuesday and Wednesday last we had a visit from Barbara who took up her bed at the Inn and dined with us and spent the afternoons.
Yesterday Tennyson and his wife called. 354 She left him behind and he read Maud etc. aloud to us. Then we walked part of the way home with him.
That is all our news. We long to see you.
Ever your loving
Pater.
N.B. Take care the Stores people send on Thursday or Friday -- perhaps better Thursday for safety.

Pater.
