Dearest Butor
Behold us here after a troublesome and worrying day. We ransacked Worthing in vain -- it is dreadfully full and the only suitable lodging was in a house with four young children, two nurses, and Mr. and Mrs. Sampson Low (the publisher) so that we declined. Talk of going back to Dorking from Pater was quashed by Mater who sniffed the sea breeze and wouldn't hear of giving it up so Pater proposed Little Hampton, known to him for its quiet. Mater consented and away we came, and found rooms in this very charming Hotel where I fancy we shall stay, but of future movements you will hear of course. I am now writing against post. Mutter sends love.
