The Priory, | 21. North Bank, | Regents Park.
Dear Main
You will lay up a store of uneasiness in life if you do not learn to "take much for granted" -- and do not get into your head the fact that other people are not so impatient as yourself. Here you have been uneasy because of not hearing from us about the "Sayings," and we have had other things to do than even to look into the book! -- Nay if we had looked into it can't you realize what a burden our necessary correspondence is and how we shirk all unnecessary writing, so that we should have waited until writing to you on other points to mention anything about the "Sayings."
I heard at Chapman's last week that Johnson would be subscribed this week.
That was a pleasant sentence from Ritter -- he is one of the readers worth having.
Ever yours
G. H. L.
