On Wednesday after my dinner sleep I went up into my dressing room feeling quite as usual, when suddenly, without any premonitory symptoms I fainted away. I must have fallen senseless, and the shock must have for a moment revived me, since my fall, which brought me against the bath, made a terrible booming noise which startled Polly, and made her call out to ask what I was doing. I answered '91I am fainting'92 -- and then again became unconscious. Now I remember distinctly feeling that I was going to faint, and that she spoke to me and I answered; yet she could not have spoken until after I had fallen, as my fall alarmed her. This has left me very weak and giddy ever since, and quite unfit for work.
