Tuesday 24th November.
To-day Charles came of Age. He had invited his friend Forman 205 to dinner, and Payne 206 to the party in the evening. This party was a housewarming: Anthony Trollope, Dallas, Owen Jones, Spencer, Burton, Noel, Pigott, Redford, Jansa, 207 Williams, Mrs. Noel, Mrs. Peter Taylor, Mrs. F. Malleson, Miss Marshall and Miss Whitehead 208 came. Jansa played on the violin. He is to give Polly lessons in accompanying the violin henceforth. The evening very pleasant and the House greatly admired.
Dunker wrote to offer 60 £ for the new matter of the new edition of Goethe for the German translation.
