Read over M.S. Walk in Park. We went to an afternoon music party at Leighton's. Joachim, Petre, Piatti, Agnes Zimmermann and Henschel. Very delightful. Many people we knew there. Lady Airlie told me Lady Herbert 619 wished to be introduced to me. Surprised at this inversion of etiquette, I of course expressed myself pleased, and sat beside her during great part of the concert talking of Spain among other things. Talked with Mrs. Erle, Mrs. Locke, Mrs. Benzon, Burne Jones, Lady Blanche Ogilvie, 620 Mrs. Ponsonby, etc. Home at 6.15 and at 8.30 we went to St. James Hall grand concert for the Blind. Orchestra,
Joachim and Petre repeated the duet they played at Leighton's. Beethoven's Symphony in A. Came away after first part.
