The Heights, Witley, | Nr. Godalming.
August 6. 79.
My dear Mr. William
It seems to me a long while since I had my last letter from Strathtyrum. I am just beginning to believe that I shall recover from my two months' illness, and I am getting more curious or at least interested to know what can be told me.
I wish you would write me word whether Theophrastus is going on quietly towards exhaustion of our copies, and whether Mr. Blackwood's health goes on improving. I do not write directly to him lest my letter should be inopportune. Thanks for the [Rabelais] 308 which came to me.
I hope you have not broken any more limbs and are walking or running as easily as if you had never had an accident of that order.
Yours very sincerely
M. E. Lewes.
