The Priory, | 21. North Bank, | Regents Park.
March 15. 68.
My dear Sir
I am delighted to get the fresh proof this morning, and the assurance that I need not be fidgetty about occupying type. 778
I shall be busy at the coast in preparing M.S. as well as in correcting proofs, for I want to get the whole poem in print as soon as I can. Perhaps I shall be able to release the press from the burthen before the end of May, for I do not find myself able to alter anything greatly when I have once written it under strong feelings.
What can be the occasion of such festivities at Edinburgh 779 in this Lenten time? Perhaps I ought to know, but I have been leading an owl's life lately.
We are going to South Devonshire, and I dare say that I shall have to send to you after we have settled on our abode. Always
Yours sincerely
M. E. Lewes.
