Christmas Day.
My dear Vivian,
Your Uncle and I were both very much pleased to have the pretty cards by which you conveyed your good wishes to us. I shall carefully preserve the cards among my personal treasures, and, if I live, I hope to look at them when you are a fine tall young man, making your Mamma's heart very glad by being the best of sons.
Bertie intends to pay you a visit on Sunday, and we will try and remember to send by him the book you wished to have lent to you.
With best love to your Mamma and wishes for you both that not only this Christmas and New Year, but all others that are to come for you, may leave happy memories behind them, I am, my dear Vivian,
Your affectionate Aunt
Marian E. Lewes.
