Richmond | December 17.
Some time ago, dear Sara, you said you should like to have Mr. Helps's autograph. Here it is, together with an anticipatory Christmas greeting from Pollian, who hopes that you will have all sorts of ruddy, fireside pleasures in the pretty green drawing room at Rosehill, and after them, the pale and spiritual pleasure of publishing your Essay, which ought to come out in the "post-Christmas" publishing season. Will it not?
I am looking forward with some pleasure to having a week of quiet solitude, 770 for which I have not lost an occasional relish.
Best love to all from your affectionate
Marian.
