Dear Sara
I am full of regret for having written you such a dismal note yesterday. I was feeling "desperate" just then, as Miss Parkes would say, but cold and headache both took a favourable turn later in the day -- I ate a good dinner and am at work again this morning, hoping that the cough will soon take its flight from me and wing its way across the Baltic to the Emperor Nicolas. 440 So don't spend undue commiseration on me. I have no time to say more.
