My dear Sara
Thanks for your kind note. It was only from Miss Marshall I heard that the Coventry house was to be let and that consequently you were all three to migrate. Since then I have been hoping to see both you and
Cara, thinking it possible that you might intend to make a little stay in London after the arrangements at Sydenham had been completed. But I thoroughly understand how you can neither of you make a journey into London for the sake of brief interviews.
I am anxious to know where you are all going -- to some pleasant place I hope -- and when you are settled perhaps you will send me a scrap to save me from entire ignorance.
What weather we have had 609 -- in London, at least, for I imagine the country weather always more endurable. We have felt the return to damps and glooms rather heavily. Still, we have comforts on our hearth, molecular physics and all other great subjects, and must not complain with a lot so much better than that of the people in Ratcliffe Highway 610 and elsewhere.
We shall meet again, sometime, I trust, before we are too old to recognize each other. God bless you all, and farewell -- not a long farewell.
