GE to Sara Sophia Hennell, [Foleshill, 9? April? 1844]
MS: Yale. One sentence published: Cross, I, 127.
My dear Sara,
I have an impression that in tearing off that part of Straus[s]'s first section which Mrs. Hennell wanted I was obliged to leave a page or so that was not translated. My first page is 257. Will you be so kind as to ascertain exactly how far Mrs. H's translation has proceeded, and send me the intermediate pages? 512 Perhaps, however, I had better translate the whole 'a7. It is the 34th about the magi -- may they be anathema!
Thanks dear, for your pretty German note and for all other pretty and good things that you have done and said for me. I cannot stay to say more than that I am
Your affectionate
Mary Ann.
I meant to send this note by Mr. Bray, but he is gone without my knowledge. 513
