My dear Sara,
You are quite right about the ausser den etc. Please to alter it and strike out the interpolations of the faithless Dr. Pollian.
So dass wir hier keine Parabel haben, sondern eine Allegorie. Es bildet also diese Stelle wenigstens (und wir werden auch keine andre finden; denn mit dem sogenannten Gleichniss vom Weinstock, K. XV. hat es, wie auch L'fccke sieht, die gleiche Bewandtniss wie mit diesem) keine Instanz gegen die Art, wie neuere Kritiker ihren Verdacht gegen das vierte Evangelium auch dadurch zu begr'fcnden gesucht haben, dass es von der parabolischen Lehrweise, welche Jesus den 'fcbrigen Evangelisten zufolge so sehr liebte, nichts zu wissen scheine.
