Dear Sara
Have you heard any news about your Essay yet? And what else of your doings and leavings undone? It seems to me a long time since I had a word from you, and I don't know whether you want to hear from me.
I send you an autograph of Bulwer's which I think you will like. That of Varnhagen was not so contemptible as it looked for it shews a perfect German handwriting. He always writes just in that way, and I would send you a copy of verses he wrote for me, only that it would be a slight to his memory if I gave them away.
Are you enjoying summer and the lawn and the bearskin, as usual? -- Without an inundation of visitors? Always, dear Sara
