Dear Sara
No -- I am not in England -- I am only nearer to the beings I love best. I try to forget all geography and that I have placed myself irretrievably out of reach of nature's brightest glories and beauties to shiver in a wintry flat. I am unspeakably grateful to find these dear creatures 892 looking well and happy in spite of worldly cares, but your dear face and voice are wanting to me. But I must wait with patience and perhaps by the time I have finished my visits to my relations, you will be ready to come to Rose Hill again. I want you, dear, to scold me and make me good. I am idle and naughty -- on ne peut plus -- sinking into heathenish ignorance and woman's frivolity -- remember you are one of my guardian angels.
Will you send me word of the address of the gentleman who has a collection of Turner's pictures which he opens weekly to the public? 893 I want M. D'Albert to see it. I mean the collection from which you stole my soap-bubbles. I was ill in London after our rough passage from Calais, and unable to move from the Hotel -- I should have thought my sickness much harder to bear if I had known there was a possibility of seeing you and going to Mr. Chapman's.
