The fact of my anonymity, which obliges me to deny myself the pleasure of communicating with you otherwise than through the medium of a third person, forbids my entering fully into the subject of the letter with which you have favoured me.
While thanking you very sincerely for the cordial words contained in that letter, and appreciating highly the advantages your proposition opens to me, I must decline at present to form any engagement. I have the honor to remain
