June 13. 79.
Dear Mr. Tr'fcbner
On Monday next I mean to send Messrs. Ballantyne the M.S. of Problem II. 271 Will you please let them know concerning the type etc. -- that it is to agree in all things with the volume just issued. I expect it to be a thick volume. There is, you know, a Problem III. And a portion of Problem IV. Besides these I am arranging a number of Notes to be printed (in a smaller type) at the end. But I must be guided as to quantity by the way in which the M.S. turns out relating to the space occupied by the print. I shall myself mention to Messrs. B. that proofs are to be sent to Dr. Michael Foster and Mr. James Sully.
Yours very truly
M. E. Lewes.
Please try that the printing may be begun as soon as possible because this is a time of leisure for the university men, and later on they will be busy again.
