My dear Mrs. Cross
My little master and great philosopher decides that we must not leave home for more than part of a day, because he is anxious to finish a certain portion of his work before we leave town and the easy access to books only to be had in town.
Therefore your pretty plan 237 for our health and pleasure must be renounced, but we could start from this house after 12 o'clock some day, and thus satisfy our souls by seeing a little more of you than you and destiny gave us yesterday. If you or Johnnie could gather for us that the promising house you spoke of is to be let, we could occupy an hour in the afternoon by looking at said house without, I hope, losing the advantage of your company.
The poor sufferer's head is not well yet -- such is the price of London "pleasures." In haste
