My dear Mrs. Cross
We shall look forward to our Christmas holiday as if London were school and Weybridge home. A London Christmas is always dreary, to me, not being in the least after that country fashion to which I was bred. Please thank Mr. Hall on our behalf for his kind partnership in your hospitality, and feel yourself spiritually kissed by our gratitude.
If we have a fine morning on the 24th, George desires me to say, 'abthat'bb we will be with you before lunch-time, but in case of rain he will console himself by doing his morning's work at home, and we will start by an afternoon train.
