Brookbank, | Shotter Mill, | Petersfield, | June 10. 71.
Dear Mrs. Pattison
The occasion when I was seen in London must have been last Monday, when I had just enough recovered from a fit of neuralgia to go and consult the doctor. 291 I am having my share of the prevalent suffering from the cold winds, which have found me feeble and taken their advantage. I only live in hope, at present, not in comfort.
Our house in London is still possessed by workmen, and we do not expect it to be fit to enter for another two months. 292 I should have liked very much to see you, pretty one, because it will be months before you come within reach again. Send me any good news about yourself, and believe me always
Yours affectionately
M. E. Lewes.
