My dear Fanny
Chrissey 653 and I are very disappointed that you cannot come to us today. I dare say you thought that Chrissey would have your letter yesterday, but as there is no afternoon post here, she only received it this morning. It is very good of you to think of giving me a bed, and very good of Henry to promise to meet me at the station but I shall go straight from Nuneaton to London 654 and not pass through Coventry, so that a journey to Leamington would oblige me quite to alter my plans, and would not allow me to see you for more than an hour.
