My dear Fanny
I think Father seems a little weaker to-day, though not very obviously worse. When should you like to come? Let me know and I will send for you. Judge for yourself, dear, whether it is best for your feelings to come or to stay away -- Henry thinks that you are better away -- but I cannot abide by his opinion without your sanction. Dear Father, you know, has no strength to talk to any one -- hardly to notice them. Keep before your mind that no evil threatens him -- that for his sake there is absolutely no regret, and that the close of his life is blessed beyond the lot of most human beings --
