My dear Fanny
Father has had another wretched night which has made him feel increasingly ill this morning. He generally gets easier in the afternoon. Mr. Bury and Mr. Clarke met here this morning. They agree in the opinion that Father's state is not referable to any one organ, but that the entire system is disordered. I have written to Robert to beg him to come, as I am sure he would wish to see Father if he knew how ill he is.
I trust dear Father will not have another night so trying as the last. I am to try a mustard plaister between the shoulders if he should not be able to sleep. You will come again soon -- but it would be well to contrive so that there should not be too many together as Father is too weak to bear much hurry or excitement, and we have now only one downstairs sitting room. Could you come tomorrow dear?
