My dear Fanny
Alas, alas! must you really part with your servant? In this world of compromise can you not come to a compromise with Mary Bunney? The dearth of servants is so dire -- poor Sarah has heard of no cook yet.
Father is still very poorly -- but I hope pills and mixture will set him right again without any further relapse. When can you come? Send us word, since we have proved that our mesmeric intercourse does not extend to a communication of the right times and seasons.
Father sends his love -- He ate his dinner with a relish today, so do not form too gloomy a picture of him.
