Text: Copy by Miss Dorothy Evans, who owns the MS. Hitherto unpublished.
My dear Fanny
I am not at all contented to set out to-morrow morning without seeing you, but I have found it impossible to get to your house this week, Father having used the carriage every day except Friday, and then the rain was too heavy to be encountered.
We will make you amends by presenting ourselves to you with cheerful and healthy faces when we return home. I have always many things to say to you, as Paul said to the Corinthians, but I shall have more then.
Take care of yourself in the meantime, and keep your heart well aired and swept not to invite demons, 735 but any stray joy that may be passing your way. Love to Henry. In haste dear Fanny
Your affectionate
Mary Ann
Sunday evening.
