My dear Cara
You must not please grieve me by applying any of the £50 which you earned by writing Paul Bradly to what it was never intended for.
The plan of printing it is good, but you must let me pay for it as my contribution towards the good ends of your Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to (or the protection of) Animals.
I have faith in your affection for me, that you will not set up any difficulty in the way of my doing this small quota towards what you are working for.
We start for our country Hermitage -- The Cottage, Earlswood Common 98 -- on Tuesday next. We take all our servants else I would have asked you whether you could have made use of our house during any part of your stay in town. But the people in charge are not such as would "do for you." With best love to all,
