My dear Cara
Though I am usually content with your silence, thinking much letter-writing a waste of time, it is a real delight to me when I do see your handwriting and have a few of your own words.
I write to say goodby. By a sudden decision, we start tomorrow, and you may be sure that I am busy with preparations. But I cannot go without a word of farewell to you, though a hasty one.
Best love to all from
Yours ever affectionately
Marian.
